5th graders join the middle school staff in their first orientation to GMS
We had a great time welcoming the Class of 2028 to GMS on Monday. Students took part in a video from our awesome 6th grade team, made by some amazing 8th grade students, a tour of GMS, an introduction to lockers and padlocks, and some incredible music with our band and choir teachers. Thanks 5th graders, we’ll see you soon!

Congratulations to our very own Aubrey Plant, WQAD News Channel 8 “My Favorite Teacher” award winner
Mrs. Plant will be honored on April 26th, WQAD Channel 8, as one of this year’s “My Favorite Teacher” award winners. Out of hundreds of nominations from teachers own students, Mrs. Plant was selected as one of this year’s 5 winners. We’re so thankful for how Mrs. Plant listens to her students, challenges them to think, wrote and grow, and for her commitment that each student is cared for.
Once Channel 8 posts the video we will share the link here…
