IL State Letters for Literature award winners
5 Honorable mention awards were handed out to 8th grade students at GMS whom wrote letters in a state competition and were in the top 25%. Congrats!
Creative Design on display in 7h Grade Geography and 8th grade ELA
Geography students had designed and put on display a tourist map of Africa to demonstrate connections between human and physical geographic features across the continent. Today students were peer reviewing using a rubric developed by the class themselves.
In 8th grade ELA students were at the development stage of Dystopian Society projects, creating a world in the model of the book The Giver using research in order to provide a title, bill of rights, order of society and more.

GMS hosts IESA Sectional Track this Saturday… 44 GMS athletes going to State, 7th boys and girls and 8th girls Sectional Champs with 8th boys 3rd in Sectional
On a cool and wet Saturday, GMS hosted 13 regional schools in the IESA Track Sectional. GMS athletes competed at the highest level with 44 7th and 8th grade boys and girls heading to state in Peoria next weekend. Medieval Session Day at GMS
Students prepared cultural times outfits, skits, catapults, and more for this annual cross curricular amazing adventure day. Great work 6th graders and 6th grade Teachers!
