This book was crazy. I honestly really enjoyed it, despite not liking any of the characters. Leti’s situation was horrible, but her problems were also mostly self-created, and she was SO self-absorbed. She didn’t care about anyone except for herself, and no one’s problems mattered except for hers. She judged Belen so insanely for the things she was doing with the older guy, but I can’t help but think that she wouldn’t have done those things if Leti were just a half-decent friend. Belen needed an outlet, and it was obvious that she was only doing things so that she could try to feel better and foster a connection with someone. She didn’t have a strong connection with anyone, and in our current society, the method she used to achieve a ‘connection’ is advertised so strongly by the media that I don’t blame Belen at all for falling into the trap. I’m happy that everything was resolved in the end, but I hope Leti and Belen can build a stronger foundation because if things continue in the way that they were, I highly doubt that their friendship will last. Overall, I do recommend this book, and I’d give it a 7/10.
I didn’t really like this book. However, it gets much better after Alma is born. My favorite character was Ali. My least favorite character was Alexis.
