About Me
0
- This is my 29th year teaching 8th Grade Science in the Geneseo School District.
- I earned my undergraduate degree in education and biology from Monmouth College, and my graduate degree from WIU in Education and Interdisciplinary Studies.
- My husband and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary this summer. We have three children. Two girls and a boy. We also have two son-in-laws, and one future daughter-in-law.
- We are enjoying being grandparents to two wonderful boys. The eldest is 7 (nearly 8) and in 2nd grade, the youngest is nearly 6 months.
- I live in Viola, Il.
- On most school days I am in my classroom by 6:30 a.m. and can be contacted via email until the office staff arrives at 7:15, otherwise I can be contacted via the school office.  I generally leave between 3:30 and 3:45.
- My hobbies include arts and crafts, exercising, spending time with my family, camping, and home improvements.
- Family gatherings and vacations are never dull, between the 40+ family members that go camping together, July 4th celebrations involving civil war and bowling ball cannons, and 90+ family members coming together for overnight Thanksgiving celebration.
- My family and I are converting a bus into an RV when we have spare time and energy. This is a task that came to a grinding halt when my children were active in sports and various other extra-curricular activities in high school. We still have yet to finish it, but it is on our bucket list.
-
- Pre-conversion–outside of bus.
- Removing the seats and cleaning.
- Building the bunk framework.
- Tinting the windows.
- Setting the bunk framework in the bus.
- Removing the bus logos.
- Laying the carpet.
- Kitchenette.
- Nearly finished.
- Lavatory.
- Post-completion outside of bus.
- Our first expedition, even though it isn’t finished.
- Although, we can camp in it comfortably, we still need to complete the wiring, heating, and plumbing.
Why bother, you might be asking?
- Building quality family memories.
- And …….. because we can.
