Ch 1 Test Study Guide Answer Key

See below for the answers to the Ch. 1 Test Study Guide.  In addition to the study guide, students can use the following resources for studying for a math test or quiz:

Ch 1 Test Study Guide Key

Do odd problems from the homework (Exercises) part of each lesson in the chapter.  The answers are in the back for odds!

Do the quizzes in the textbook.  There is always a mid chapter quiz and an end of chapter quiz.

Do the review (always at the end of the chapter).  The review goes lesson by lesson with at least one worked out example for each lesson.

Do the Chapter test (at the very end of the chapter).

Use the online textbook for additional resources (link to the online textbook is on my page in the sidebar!).

The Ch. 1 test will be Wednesday for Enriched classes and Friday for Regular classes.

First quiz under our belts

Both Enriched and Regular math classes have now taken their first quiz in 6th grade math.  The quiz was over 1.1 Р1.3.  Enriched students got their quizzes back on Monday, Regular students will get their quizzes back today.

A few things to note:

  1.  All students are eligible to do corrections on any quiz or test given in my class.  Correction sheets are available in my room.  To do corrections, the student should rework all the problems they got wrong (with all work shown), get the correct answer, and explain in complete sentences what error they made the first time.  If the problem is reworked correctly, the student will earn back half the points they missed (for example, if they missed 2 points on a problem, they would earn 1 point back for correcting it).  The only problem students cannot redo on the corrections is the extra credit.  I usually give students 2-3 days from when the test/quiz was handed back to complete corrections.
  2. Students are welcome to bring their quizzes and tests home to show off their hard work! ¬†However, I ask that all quizzes and tests be returned to school after being reviewed at home, since we file all our old assessments here at school. ¬†Filing the students’ work serves two purposes: ¬†we use these filed materials at conferences to look over the students work, and the students will use these filed materials to help study for the end of year final exam.
