Hello Enriched students, sorry I couldn’t hang out with you today!
The substitute teacher has given you notes to fill in as you watch the video below.  He or she will check your notes when you are done watching they video.  They will look to see that all your notes are filled in, and they will check the last slide to make sure your problems are correct.
When the teacher “okays” your notes, you may then work on the homework, which is page 229: 3-37 odd (skip 25). ¬†Even if you’re using mental math, make sure to show your work like I did in the notes!
The KIF Ch 11 will be handed out to Enriched classes on Thursday, January 21st.  Regular math classes will not receive the Ch 11 KIF until after they take the Ch. 11 test.
The Ch 11 KIF is due for Enriched on Friday, January 29th.  Below are links to the videos,
Below are the links to the KIF Ch. 6 videos.  Remember to try the problems on your own first, and use the video to check answers or work through problems you are stuck on.
The KIF Ch 6 will be handed out Friday, January 15th in class.  Class time will be provided to work on the KIF on that day.  The KIF is due Friday, January 22nd.  This assignment is for the Regular Math classes only.
Below are the links to the KIF Ch 7 videos.  KIF Ch 7 was handed out Friday, December 18th and is due Friday, January 8th for both the Regular and Enriched classes.

KIF Ch 4 is due Friday for Regular Math students (Enriched turned in their KIF Ch. 4 before Thanksgiving Break).  Below are two links of Mr. Monier explaining the problems.  You are still expected to answer all the questions on your own and SHOW YOUR WORK, but if you are stuck on a problem, watch the video to hopefully refresh your memory!
KIF Ch 2 was due this Monday, and has been returned to students. Corrections can not be done on KIFs, so if you didn’t do as well as you would have liked, watch the video below by Mr. Monier to see explanations for all the problems. ¬†Remember, each upcoming KIF will have problems from all our previous chapters, so it’s a good idea to go back and figure out why you got problems wrong!
KIF Ch 3 is due Monday.  Below is a link of Mr. Monier explaining the problems.  You are still expected to answer all the questions on your own and SHOW YOUR WORK, but if you are stuck on a problem, watch the video to hopefully refresh your memory!
Hey 6th graders and parents!
Most of my classes have now used some of the virtual flashcards I created in our group Quizlet.  Last week we practiced our multiplication and division facts using Quizlet.
Now that our Regular Math classes are focusing on mathematical properties, I’ve added a Quizlet for that as well. ¬†It reviews all the properties from lesson 3.3, as well as the Distributive Property from lesson 3.4 ¬†Check it out! ¬†Remember, in addition to using the regular “flashcard” feature, you can also use Test, Scatter and Race to practice your facts!
Students, remember you can link to our Quizlets via Google Classroom.
Parents, you can see our Quizlets using the links below:
After every quiz and test we take, Mrs. Gillespie offers students the opportunity to do corrections on their assessment.  Corrections allow the student to re-evaluate their work and hopefully determine what they did wrong the first time around and correct their mistake.
In addition to correcting their work, students also explain in words what went wrong the first time around.
If students successfully correct the problem, they earn back half the points that they missed.
Currently, both Regular Math and Enriched Math have corrections (which are optional) due on Wednesday.
