PARCC practice
6th graders will be taking the PARCC test on Tuesday, March 29th and Wednesday, March 30th.  Below is a link to a practice test.

We will be filling out an NCAA bracket in class.  We will use our results when the tournament is over (early April) to practice using fractions, decimal and percents!  If you want to do a little research before making your bracket, click the link below:

Remember, Monday, March 14th is Pi Day!!  We will be celebrating with lots of fun sessions and treats!
One of our sessions is to decorate your own Pi shirt, so remember to bring a white or light colored shirt to decorate.  Below are some ideas from past years for your shirt.

Calculators allowed!!
As we move into the next few chapters (Regular is in Chapter 5, Enriched is in Chapter 14), students are allowed to use calculators on their homework.  In fact, they will be allowed to use calculators on all the chapters we cover for the remainder of the year.
We have discussed in class that they still must SHOW THEIR WORK by writing down the numbers and operations that they will type into the calculator.
If you don’t have a calculator at home, smart phones have a calculator app that comes standard with the phone.
