Good evening,
As we prepare for our Christmas performances, it is important to reflect on our past experiences to help us.
Reflecting on their September Harvest Fest performance, here are some things that students enjoyed:
“At the end when we were singing “Hey Jude”.¬† I like that the parents were waving their hands” -Emma, Grade 4.
“When the crowd stood up at the end of “Hey Jude” because that is what they did in the 60’s.”¬† Maddi, Grade 4
“Knowing I did my very best at singing [in] the right keys [and] that a lot of people thought I was a good singer.” -Lauren, Grade 4
“Singing with the other songs and grades to see how they did and having an audience.” -Lauren, Grade 5.
Here are some things students said they would like improve and do for the Christmas concert:
“We should work a little harder with the lyrics so we can over-deliver the perfect concert”-Cole, Grade 5
“I can sing stronger.¬† I can practice more, and I can be more patient.”-Natalie, Grade 4
“I can improve making my mouth wider. ” -Maddi, Grade 4
“Play recorders and singing lots of songs.” -Lauren, Grade 5
“I can improve by not talking to my neighbor when other people sing…¬† The one thing I want to do at the holiday concert is to have a big solo.”- Elizabeth, Grade 5
“One thing I want to do at the holiday concert is doing hand motions with the music.”-Keeli, Grade 5
Here are the Christmas performances.  Please keep in mind that students will be asked to report at an earlier time than the start time posted:
Christmas Walk-December 8th at 4:30
Northside Christmas Program-Thursday, December 20:K-2 at 6:30 PM; 3-5 at 7:30 PM
Please consider volunteering your time and resources for this program.  We will be needing a number of volunteers for setting up before and taking down after the performance.
I will soon send a letter home with more details regarding both performances.  Please contact me at meckwall@dist228.org with any questions.
Thank you for your continued support of Music at Northside!
