WOW! What a great meet! I think we were owed some great weather after the downpour on Wednesday 🙂
Truly a fantastic meet all around. Almost every single runner had a PR, and many athletes PR-ed by 30 seconds or more! The coaches are so excited to see training and hard work pay off. This is the time of year we want to see those times going down as we get faster and stronger. It’s the push to the end of the season and we’re happy with where our athletes are going.

Tyler Gehl took home a medal for 22nd place in the varsity race, and Sierra Krueger sped to the finish line for a 19th place medal in the open race. Congrats to all our runners! Get in 1 run over the next 2 days and have a great weekend! Don’t forget DQ run on Monday, so athletes, bring money for food, and parents, please pick up at DQ!

Thanks to everyone for making our meet tonight a success! Our Boosters did a fantastic job designing the shirts, and we always love the delicious food they have to offer. So many parents helped all around the course before, during and after the meet. And we can’t forget Coaches Ehlert and Fredrichs who were a HUGE help!!

A great first “official” 2 mile run today for the team in warm conditions!

Have a great 3 day weekend! Make sure to get a run or two in over the weekend, and make one of those runs a longer 3-4 mile run. Also try to work in some sprints!
We’re looking forward to hosting our invite on Wednesday.
Go Leafs!
Yesterday at practice we all enjoyed some twinkies with our twins! It was a good pre-race practice full of fun, food, and tag 🙂 We also had a group of “fraternal” twins join us in the fun!
Coach Schmidt and I were so excited to see so many GMS cross country athletes at the Jordan Rahn Forever Young race this weekend! Everyone had some great times despite a warm morning!
Congrats to Tyler Gehl, Mason Lovig, Annie Wirth, Addison Pischke, Alexa Jolly, Castin Gustafson, and Alyssa Gentry for placing in their age groups in the 5K and 1 mile races. Also burning up the pavement in the 5K and 1 mile was Buddy Henderson and Aubrey Brumbaugh.
Great work getting some miles in over the weekend, looking forward to seeing everyone Monday!
