Ask any first grader in 1W… We LOVE The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. This week, we have interactively read and wrote with our favorite book. The book is about a boy named Duncan and his grouchy crayons. They have complaints about all sorts of things. At the end of the book, Duncan draws a picture that solves all the crayons’ complaints. Black Crayon finally gets to color a completely BLACK beach ball. This week, we wrote a friendly letter to Duncan using Black Crayon’s “voice” thanking him for finally drawing an all black beach ball.
