Book Club Kits

We know that some of the adult book clubs in our community have been annual readers and supporters of our program. We would like to organize this community a little better this year to make it possible for more of you to engage with the book and our readers.

Geneseo Area Book Club Invitation: Tuesday, January 27 from 6:30-8 p.m. at GMS Library

If your book club would like to learn more about On the Same Page and Final Season or just to connect with other book clubbers in our area, we invite you to send a representative or two to our gathering on January 27. In attendance will be OSP reading team students, Jeanne Brucher (GMS Librarian) Heidi Hamer (GEF), and Beth Nyland (Anthology for Books) to answer questions about our program and to build some camaraderie among the bibliophiles in the Geneseo area.

Book Club Kits

We are going to prepare two Final Season Book Club kits of 10 books each that can be reserved by local book clubs. Since most of you usually read adult titles and this is a rather short middle grade read, we are setting the loan period at 3 weeks. Then you will return the kit to GMS, so we can prep it for the next group. Kits would include copies of the book, information about the OSP program, and pins you can proudly wear throughout the community as readers of this year’s community-wide read.

Please complete this GENESEO AREA BOOK CLUB OSP QUESTIONNAIRE if you would like to request a Book Club Kit and/or be included on a directory of Geneseo Area Book Clubs for communications about literary activities in the area.

Other Options for Getting Books

If you can’t get the book kit when it works for your club, books will be available in our Hot Spots as well (aiming for January 23), so you may be able to find copies around town. Check this page for our partner locations.

If your group prefers to purchase your own copies, feel free to contact Beth Nyland at Anthology for Books to assist you in making purchases. Beth helped us acquire the books for our grant and can assist you with print or ebook options through Bookshop.org or audiobook options through Libro.fm.

Paying It Forward

The Geneseo Education Foundation has been the primary financial supporter of our program since its inception. Their grants have helped us purchase the books we place throughout the community. Please consider supporting our reading community by donating to GEF that supports not only OSP but many other educational programs through their twice-a-year grant programs.
