About ProjectLEAF

ProjectLEAF is an effort by the Board of Education to gather input and feedback following the success of the April 9, 2013 County Sales Tax for School Facilities Referendum.

The new sales tax revenues may only be used for capital projects, additions, new construction, renovation of our schools.  It may not be shared with other taxing bodies or private entities,  and may not be used for salary or benefits.

The Board  challenged a Facilitating Team of community members to be prepared to make a recommendation before October, 2014.  This group met the challenge and made a comprehensive recommendation to the Board of Education in the fall of 2014.

Subsequently the Board of Education sought a general obligation referendum to gain voter approval for $16.5M to complete the overall scope of the project.

Renovations to all five schools was planned and the referendum was successful in April 2015.  Bidding for two of the projects has been completed and it is hoped that all 5 schools will achieve their upgrades no later than the start of the 2018-19 school year!
