Sharing Flat Stanley

As part of our Communities Unit, students listened to the story of Flat Stanley, a little boy flattened like a pancake after a bulletin board fell on him. While being super skinny could prove to be difficult at times, it came in handy when Stanley wanted to travel. He could easily slip into a stamped envelope, have his parents drop him into a nearby mailbox, and travel inexpensively across the country!

3-K students created their own Flat Stanley and mailed him to family and friends across the United States, and in some cases, around the world! Students had the opportunity during the last couple of weeks to share letters and photos of Stanley’s travels with the class. We had fun pulling down the class map and tracking just where Stanley went.

Thanks to all the family and friends who helped make our Flat Stanley project a success! 🙂
