Pre-assessment

Posted by chanson on August 30, 2018 in Classroom Activities |

Dear Parents,

Today, August 30, 2018, students will be taking the physical science pre-assessment. This test is designed to determine prior knowledge students have regarding NGSS performance standards that will be addressed this year. The majority of students perform near the 50th percentile, therefore skyward may alert you of a failing status. I will be using this information to help me plan lessons throughout the school year, as well as differentiate content whenever possible. The assessment will not be counted as a grade, however the default for skyward is to count it as a scored assignment. If you received a notification regarding your student’s standing, please disregard that notice. I will be marking the assignment as “NO COUNT” so it will not impact his/her overall grade. The students will be taking the same assessment in the spring. It is amazing to see just how much the students grow intellectually.
