As 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> grade students are preparing for several musical events, I wanted to give you an update so that your child could take full advantage of all opportunities available to them.\u00a0 These include Symphony Day, The Music In Our Schools Concert,<\/em> and the 4th<\/sup> Grade Musical-Star Search.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n 4th<\/sup> Graders-<\/strong> Our 4th Grade Musical this year will be Star Search-A \u201cLight\u201d Musical. \u00a0<\/em>We will perform it on Tuesday, March 15th<\/sup> at 6:30 p.m., and again two days later during our annual Fine Arts Day.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em>We will begin rehearsing for this performance during class next week.\u00a0 Auditions for extra roles will take place this Tuesday and Wednesday, February 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> ,<\/strong> from 7:50-8:15 a.m.\u00a0 I have attached the audition information and also the script and notation in case you find it helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Audition Information<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Star Search Script<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Practice Tracks<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n On Thursday, February 24th<\/sup>, 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> grade students<\/strong> will be performing at the 46th<\/sup> Annual Music In Our Schools Concert <\/em>on Thursday, February 28th at 7 p.m. at the High School.\u00a0 Please plan to arrive by 6:45 p.m. Practice tracks and music notation are posted on my district blog.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Music Notation<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n MIOS Practice Tracks<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Also, on February 24th<\/sup>, all 4th<\/sup> Graders <\/strong>in Geneseo schools will be traveling to the Symphony Day<\/em> at the Adler Theater in Davenport. The theme this year is \u201cMusic Of America.\u201d We will be doing activities during music class to help familiarize students with some of the music that will be performed. Students will load buses about 9:45 a.m. for the 11:00 concert. We will eat lunch when returning to school about 12:30. Please have your child bring a sack lunch<\/em>. Please also have your child wear nice school clothes the day of the concert. Here is the resource guide<\/a> I received which helps to introduce these musical pieces and performers to students.
