As the Christmas programs\nare right around the corner, I would like remind you of its details. In addition, I would like to share with you\nan update on the opportunities available to your child, and also where you may\nassist. The Southwest Christmas Programs\nwill take place on the evening of Tuesday,\nDecember 17th<\/sup> in the High School Concert Hall. Grades\nK-2 will <\/strong>perform at 6:00, and Grades\n3-5 <\/strong>will perform at 7:15. Please\nhave your child arrive 15 minutes early. \nAt a later time, closer to the programs, we will share with you details\nof dropoff and pickup locations for each grade level. As you consider where to sit to best see your\nchild, here is the students\u2019<\/strong> placement on\nrisers:<\/strong><\/em>3rd<\/sup> grade\nwill be on the audience\u2019s left, K-2nd<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> grades in\nthe middle, and 4th<\/sup> grade on the right. DVD\u2019s\nwill again be available for purchase! <\/em> Please see the included form and return it\nwith your child to his or her teacher, or to the music room before we leave for\nwinter break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> grades <\/strong>will also have the opportunity to sing as part of the Geneseo Christmas Walk<\/em> on Saturday, December 14th<\/sup><\/strong> at 3:30\np.m. Please arrive at 3:20. This year we\nwill be performing OUTSIDE at the intersection of State and First (the traffic\nlight) in downtown Geneseo. All three\nelementary schools will sing together. \nPlease be sure that your child is dressed for the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 3rd<\/sup>, 4th <\/sup>and 5th<\/sup>\ngrades\u2019<\/strong> Christmas Program this year\nwill be Jingle Bell Jukebox! <\/em>In addition to songs that all students\nwill be singing, our 5th<\/sup> graders with speaking parts have been\nbusily rehearsing. Students in grades\n3-5 may also come in for extra recorder\npractice<\/em>. All of these rehearsals\nand practices are taking place during specified morning and lunch recess times. This schedule can be found in the gym, by the\nSouthwest music room, and online on my district blog-see link below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Kindergarten, 1st<\/sup>, and 2nd<\/sup>\ngrades <\/strong>will perform a variety of\nHoliday selections, both old and new! <\/p>\n\n\n\n All Grades-<\/strong> On the links to each grade level above, you will find practice tracks and music notation for all songs we will be singing on December 17th<\/sup> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n Attention performing musicians-<\/strong>If your child plays piano or another instrument and\nhas a piece prepared for Christmas, we would love to have him or her play for\nus in between concerts during the Christmas Programs on December 17th<\/sup>! Please let me know if your child is\ninterested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please Help! <\/strong>We are still looking for volunteers to assist us on\nthe day of the program, and also to decorate the Concert Hall for the holiday\nseason. To decorate the concert hall,\nindividuals from all three elementary schools will meet on Sunday, December 8th<\/sup><\/em> at 4:30 p.m. The day of the program-December 17th<\/sup>–<\/em> we need assistance to setup and takedown\nbefore and after our performance, starting at about 4:00 p.m. Please contact me if you might be able to\nassist at any point.
