As the Christmas programs are right around the corner, I would like to share with you an update on the opportunities available to your child.\u00ac\u2020 The programs will take place on the evening of Tuesday, December 20th<\/sup> in the Middle School<\/em> Gymnasium.\u00ac\u2020 <\/strong>Kindergarten and 1st<\/sup> grade will perform at 5:45, 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> grades at 6:45, and 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> grades at 7:30. \u00ac\u2020As before, the DVD will be recorded by Monjaro Studios and available for purchase. \u00ac\u2020Please send this\u00ac\u2020\u00ac\u2020DVD form<\/a>\u00ac\u2020along with the attached payment to myself or your child’s classroom teacher.<\/p>\n 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> grades <\/strong>will also have the opportunity to sing as part of the Geneseo Christmas Walk<\/em> the previous Saturday, December 10th<\/sup><\/strong> at 4:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church.<\/p>\n The 4th<\/sup>and 5th<\/sup> grades\u201a\u00c4\u00f4<\/strong> Christmas Program this year will be A Charlie Brown Christmas.\u00ac\u2020<\/em><\/p>\n 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> grades<\/strong> will perform the mini-musical Elflandia.<\/em>\u00ac\u2020 Included will be numerous speaking lines as well as other non-speaking roles. \u00ac\u2020<\/em>2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> grade students have the opportunity to submit to me \u201a\u00c4\u00faElfie Selfies,\u201a\u00c4\u00f9 which we will plan to project during our program.<\/p>\n Kindergarten and 1st<\/sup> grade <\/strong>will perform a variety of Holiday selections, both old and new.<\/p>\n 1st<\/sup>-5th<\/sup> grade students <\/strong>will also have the opportunity sing in several solo\/small groups, and participate in an extra instrumental ensemble with others from their grade level.\u00ac\u2020\u00ac\u2020 More details will be coming in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n All grades-K-5 <\/strong>may submit Christmas Program covers to Mr. Eckwall or Mrs. Kegebein.\u00ac\u2020 The winner for each grade will have his or her design printed on the cover of the Christmas Programs on December 20th<\/sup>.\u00ac\u2020 Please remember that the cover will be printed in black and white.<\/p>\n Attention performing musicians-<\/strong>If your child plays piano or another instrument and has a piece prepared for Christmas, we would love to have him or her play for us in between concerts either during the Christmas Walk on December 11th<\/sup> or the Christmas Programs on December 20th.<\/p>\n \u00ac\u2020<\/strong>All grades-Rehearsals<\/strong> for all speaking\/nonspeaking roles and instrumental ensembles will take place during morning and lunch recess times.\u00ac\u2020 A schedule of all Christmas Program rehearsals will be posted each week outside the music room and here on my district blog-rehearsal-schedule-christmas-2016<\/a>.\u00ac\u2020Students are be expected to attend all rehearsals for their group in preparation for the performance at the Christmas Programs on December 20th<\/sup>.\u00ac\u2020 <\/em>\u00ac\u2020\u00ac\u2020\u00ac\u2020If you are a lunch worker, please arrange for a substitute in advance of all rehearsals.<\/p>\n Please contact me if you have questions at meckwall@geneseoschools.org.
