ASSESSMENT ASSIGNMENT for week beginning Wednesday, May 6 – Tuesday, May 12

  1. (grades 9-11) CLEARLY PUT IN PRINT the PAGE NUMBERs and EXERCISE NUMBERs of this final assessment assignment so we have record of where to start you up again in August. Keep your Sightsinging/Rhythm Unit packet in a safe place over summer, to be used again when we return. Seniors – no need to keep it or return it.
  2. SUBMIT IN RECORDED FORM
    1. assigned RHYTHM
    2. BOTH assigned MELODIES
    3. ANY SONG of your choice. Submit yourself singing a song…consider some options:
      1. Your favorite?
      2. Something from your childhood?
      3. Something you have worked on if you are studying in private voice?
      4. A Hymn, Rap, Country, Jazz, Spiritual, Pop, Classical, an original composition.
      5. With accompaniment?
      6. Karaoke?
      7. a cappella?
      8. With your sister? Father? Mother? Entire family?
      9. Just you?
      10. The only guideline is that the lyrics and content do not offend.

Your song will NOT be critiqued, rated, judged, given a like or dislike or shared…Your song will be enjoyed. It is important to remember that singing is self-expression. It does NOT always have to be correct, guided, studied, polished. Sing like your inner child wants you to sing.

As an example, Jacob Jorgensen sent me a song last week and gave me permission to share it with you. This is a song Jacob wrote with a COVID19 theme. Jacob is doing what I want for you all…JUST KEEP SINGING!!!!!!!!!
