IMPORTANT IHSA ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT

This year, the Geneseo School District has scheduled Spring Break for the week of Monday, April 5th.

This year, the IHSA has scheduled Organizational Contest for April 3rd and 4th.

Due to the music students strong desire to compete at Organizational Contest, and the start of Spring Break on contest weekend, all band and choir students will be scheduled to perform at Organizational Contest Friday, April 3rd. Please plan your spring break accordingly, such to insure full participation by all students at Organizational Contest at Rock Ridge HS on Friday, April 3rd. Please begin your spring break plans on Saturday, April 4th. On behalf of the music students and directors, thank you for your consideration.

GPAC SPRING SALE

2009 GPAC Spring Sale Information and Reminder
Purpose: The Spring sale is a fundraiser for the Geneseo Performing Arts Council to enhance the band, choir, speech and theatre programs helping fine arts 4-12.

Product Information: Fine Arts students grades 6-12 are selling products from Mr. Z and TPC

Selling: The sale began Monday, February 9th and end on Friday, February 20th. All orders will be prepaid and are to be turned in on one of the following dates:
Friday, February 20th from 3:00-6:00 HS New Band Room & MS Cafeteria
Sunday, February 22nd from 2:00-4:00 HS Gym
Monday, February 23rd from 3:00-6:00 HS New Band Room & MS Cafeteria

Please do not send checks or money to the teachers!
Make all Checks Payable to: GPAC

No Partial Payments Please!
It is helpful to GPAC volunteers to right one check for your entire order.

Delivery:
All orders will arrive in time for Easter.
Products will be ready for pickup on Saturday, March 28th from 8:30 – 10:30 at
Southwest Elementary School, 715 South Center Street, Geneseo, IL.
If you are unable to pick up your order at this time, please make arrangements for someone else to pick up your orders as some of these items are perishable.

If you would prefer your 6-12 grade child to not participate in the selling of items in this sale, please consider a monetary donation.

MID WINTER CONCERT – SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22

Join us in the HS gym for a 2:00 pm choir performance at the Mid-Winter Concert on Sunday, February 22.¬¨‚Ć There is an admission charge for this concert.¬¨‚Ć The choirs will perform a piece written by Geneseo HS composer Carlisle Evans-Peck.¬¨‚Ć In addition, two Canadian songs, a Scottish and a British ballade, an American spiritual work song and a “Ring – Shout” with appearances by a Saint, a man named Ollie Brown, and the Devil.¬¨‚Ć Following the concert, the choirs will be photographed for the Geneseo Year Book Publication.

At 4:00 pm, the HS Band will perform in the Auditorium.

Come for an afternoon of music.
