Happy Friday everyone!

As we look forward to the weekend many of us will watch the Superbowl to see whether the PATRIOTS or FALCONS win. Even if you hate football, there are some other reasons to watch the game‚Äö THE COMMERCIALS!!! Hundreds of millions of dollars will be spent on the air time ($5.5 million per 30 sec. spot) and the fees for creation of the commercials to advertising agencies.

Remember, the economy and debt were huge issues after the Revolutionary War. Daniel Shays led the violent rebellion that triggered the Constitutional Convention because of the farm foreclosures and the poor economic opportunities.  If politicians believe our economy is really so bad TODAY, how & WHY can we support (BUY STUFF) from companies who spend so much money on advertising? Meanwhile, people TODAY are losing their homes to foreclosure and our personal and government debt is at a historic high. Hmmmmmmm?

FOR 5 EXTRA CREDIT POINTS ‚Äö post your thoughts about debt (during the era of the Constitution OR now) OR share your opinion about the amount of money spent on advertisements related to American consumers and today‚Äö economy.

If you‚Äö like let me know your favorite Super Bowl commercials or give a Super Bowl score prediction too.

A look in the political citizenship mirror…

images-1

Happy Friday everyone,

In this current political season as “Super Tuesday” is just a few days away, here’s an opportunity for you to see where you stand.¬† Whether at a rally, debate, town hall meeting, caucus, or primary election our current pool of Presidential candidates from both the democratic and republican parties have begun to sprint for their party nomination.

We’ve taken time to see the humor of some Saturday Night Live political satire teasing candidates from both parties, but let’s take a moment to see where YOU STAND.¬† In ONLY FOUR years you’ll be eligible to vote for the members of Congress and a president in the election of 2020! Do you lean to the left with liberal democrats, to the right with conservative republicans, or are you standing on the fence of political ideology as an independent?

Here are a couple of internet tools that might help you “look in the mirror” to see how you feel as a citizen that’s a young adult.¬† PLEASE REMEMBER, YOUR RESULTS ARE FOR YOU AND YOU DON’T NEED TO SHARE THEM WITH ANYONE EXCEPT YOUR PARENTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO.
